The best time tracking application

I have tried them all! This one does the job. I start a timer for a job I am working on and if I forgot to "punch in" I just start the timer and later I can adjust the time. Sometimes I forget to turn the timer off. I can always come back and adjust it later. When I want to send my hours to my boss (to justify my overtime), I just send it via email, or I can email a backup file to my mobileme site or a CSV file, which is easily viewed in a spreadsheet for more manipulation. Its a simple, straightforward program and it works very well. A few bugs cropped up, but the developer was on it within 24 hours! I challenge anyone else to be that quick to respond. Go ahead and try the other time tracker programs and waste your money like I did, or try this one first and see if it doesnt meet your needs.

Great App!

Excellent application for the legal profession. Easy to use, can email csv file to open in Excel and then sort details (by client name or other category) at the end of the month, to be input into billing system. Two things to add to the wish list: (1) Add hourly rates category; and (2) somehow syncing with Quickbooks.

Good App. Just beware.

Does exactly what its supposed to do. I love it. Please make it stop crashing. It is so frustrating. Otherwise, great app.

Works great!

24 hours customer response turnaround! Does just what I need, simple, straightforward. Ive done hours of reviewing and this one took 1st prize in a journal article a couple days ago. .csv email works great and exactly what I need to see where my time is going. Already paid for itself though cost not my number one concern. And you CAN specify a time category when you start a new timer. You dont have to wait until you turn off the time. Love the little red number on the springboard icon that tells me Ive got that many timers running. Set it and forget it, theres your little buddy on the dashboard to remind you.

Great app !!

This is the best time tracking app that I have downloaded on the Iphone. Very useful no bugs and allows you to edit all entries. This app deserves 5 stars. I would also be willing to pay an additional $ 20 for this app if the progamers could add "EMPLOYEES" & "HOURLY WAGE" within "CATEGORIES" so that it can be used as a time card punch calculator as well.

This is a great tool !!!

I have been playing around with this little jewel in the shop today and must say, "I am impressed”. I have successfully e-mailed CSV files and plain text files to my self, and am "again impressed". As a contractor this is a very useful tool, I can appreciate the rich features of this program, as it does what I need with great accuracy. Thank you Costmosoft for such a great program! If you need to track time on a project or various projects with the ability to assign customer and job descriptions, then this program is for you, look no further, this program does it! I only wish I could add the customer and job info when I start a timer, not when I stop it. It would also be a nice feature to be able to see the timers running at a glance (maybe at the splash screen) and tell which timer is running for what category. Running different machines at the same time can greatly benefit form a feature like this. Over all I think this is a great tool, I can finally begin to log times with less effort, and more accurately! Keep up the good work Costmosoft!

Good software, average GUI

I have tried 3 other products. this one is probably one of the more elaborated in the App Store. However, The software is not very inviting to use on a regular basis. I am using it when I have to. And I would prefer a more improved user interface and information entry logic. You can tell that the author has a good programming effort put into it, but have not put enough effort on the usability. Overall, does the job! Improvement suggestion: - status of timer. There is no way to know where you are in counting time - multiple timers (at least 2 timers) active the same time - It would be good to define shortcuts for task information entry. Most common tasks can be added with a quick entry. If I am doing market research for someone and it is going to last 2 months, I want everyday to just count time and not enter the whole information about the client/category/subject again and again. One suggestion would be to have 5 modifiable objects (client+category+Job) for quick entry. - Improve load time of application when started. It is not very quick right now.

Very easy to use

I like this app. I am an assistance dog trainer and get paid on a contract basis. This allows me to bill for what I am owed without ever having to round off. I can easily track time spent doing emails, training, etc. Everything is stored by the month and with the tap of a button you can send the monthly report to yourself or your client.

Very useful app.

I have been using this app for a while now and am overall very pleased with it. The only real annoyance is that it crashes often. Having a quick summary of the running timers would be very useful. It would also be nice to have the option to sort the log with the most recent entry at the top.

Going Back to Paper & Pencil

Three problems after a day of use: 1) What if I start, stop and then pick back up a job? My day is full of interruptions and TimeLogger is useful for this kind of jumping back & forth. 2) Why cant I enter the client, the category and the job when I START? 3) No one seems to be home at the Costmo site. The board is useless.

Its Crash-Tastic!

I use this program all day every day, and I find it indispensible. I love how easy it is to track my billable hours. This program is about six small changes away from perfection. That being said, it crashes. It crashes a LOT. There is no support for the program. There are never updates. The worst "feature" is the way it stores your entries as one long page for the entire month. Not only is it a pain to navigate to the most recent entries (which are at the bottom of the list), but as the month goes on and the list gets longer, the probability that the app will crash grows exponentially. By mid-month you can basically give up on ever reaching the bottom of the list before the app goes belly-up. (Although, strangely enough, turning of the iPhones antennas by switching to "Airplane" mode seems to increase the time between crashes.) Still, I keep using it... I must be some sort of masochist.

Best of the couple I bought.

The program is the best of the timing programs I bought. In other words it will work. Spoke to soon. It is now broke and unable to find info entered, without manually reading everything in all logs. The program is now useless. It is now working again, with update. Still waiting for Handbase for final solution for time keeping, it is an uncomplete version on Itunes. FM is out of the question for time keeper. The cost is unjustifiable.

Does what i need, wonderfully

I put TimeLogger up against Timewerks, and they are both good, but different. TimeLogger did what I need most - documenting start and stop times, and solid reports I can load into excel. The other program allows invoicing directly from the iphone, but the reports arent good. It seems logical to me that anyone sending out invoices will have a non-mobile, more powerful workflow in place prior to the iphone. But TimeLogger has what I need; it really keeps track of my time and integrated well with my existing systems. Minute accuracy, completely editable, solid exporting as csv. Now with all the new bug fixes, all reporting is perfect. This developer stays on top of his product. This is the time tracker to get. (As of this writing, this one is cheaper, too.)

After almost a year, I still like this app

This is the third review I have written for this application because I think it is excellent for my time-keeping needs and CostmoSoft has been responsive to my one suggestion. As an attorney, I need to keep billable hours. I periodically send emails to myself to create a hard copy and a backup electronic copy. If I forgot to start or stop the timer, it is easy to change it to the correct start or stop time. So far, I have not had any issues with it.

Useless if you need to deduct a lunch hour

I cant bill for lunchtime so Id like to see a toggle for a variable lunch hour that automatically deducts from the daily total. PLEASE take care of this issue and Ill give it five stars. Its otherwise a great program.

It Just Works

This is a great time tracking device. Ive used it for all sorts of activities and tasks, and I am always impressed by how simple it is. I have never experienced a glitch or any opperating difficulties whatsoever. You link up an email address and you send automatic or ad hoc reports of the tasks you imput. Its more or less fully customizable. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with time tracking needs! The only suggestion I have for the designers is that they allow pre-categorization of a particular task before starting the timer. It would be helpful to have the option of starting up a general task which I can recategorize later, or to start up in a few categories I created before. It would save time. Thanks for the great product!
