TimeLogger.app App Reviews

Needs more work

As of v1.0 it’s not very useful. There is no way to get totals by clients, categories or jobs and no way to export or email your data. Entry of timers is tedius. It would be better for me if it remembered the client, category and job that I entered in my last timer (most of the time Im just changing either the category or job when starting a new timer). For now I’m going back to my Palm Pilot for tracking time. Ill try this application again when the next version is released.

Works for Me!

Im surprised there arent more people reviewing this app as they have an active forum on their website (worth a peek). Although there are some things Id tweak (prehaps the ability to make the homepage of the app the "Current Entries" option or the option of doing such configurations) I think its well worth the 4 bucks. I jump from task to task during the day and for billing purposes need to track my time accordingly. Everyone could offer a way to make this work better for their specific needs, but understand the developers cant make a custom app for each and every user. And whats more, theres nothing else in the store that comes anywhere near what this does. My two cents.

Totally useful and easy

Im impressed. Easy to get going with, allows you to make it as simple or complex as you like in terms of jobs and clients. Emailable report is good. This app is going to help me figure out how I spend my time and then Im going to ask for a raise!

Cip

With the help of this app now I know exactly on what Im spending my time at work. I like the way the timers where implemented. This app is simple and efficient. Thanks.

Good with new upgrade

This app works well, but it was the upgrade that really made it work as a tool. 15min interval timing is great. Email reports are smooth. Id be lost without it.

Works pretty well

although this isnt quite the app that I wanted. I was looking for something simpler, that was one click start & stop timer per task, and quick to add a new task. (doing computer service work, I may only spend 5 minutes on one machine, while it does a copy or something, I move to another system) it looks like TimeTracker will work the way I want. I will be keeping this app on my iPhone for any long-term projects I work on (the history aspect would be great for such big tasks)

My daily go-to app

This app works as advertised. The developer is receptive to suggestions, responds quickly to emails, and makes regular incremental improvements. TimeLogger gets used so many times during the day, its a candidate for residing on my iPhone dock. I look forward to seeing some of the items on the suggested improvements list being implemented. The apps ability to output records to CSV format is a real bonus for data security. Personally, I hope to implement a macro routine in my office that allows me to input TimeLogger records into our resident time/accounting software. Highly recommend this application....

Awesome app!!

Been looking for an easy and fast app to keep track of my jobs, etc. Works perfect! Love to user interface and ability to customize things. Well done!

Own Boss

This app is awesome. As a contractor that works on hourly billing with multiple clients, this app has paid for itself thousands of times over. Only complaint is that it crashes when I try to delete time categories or clients that I no longer need.

Problem

After update is not working! Why?!

No fix

Still waiting for update, app crashing.

App is crashing!!!!

With the latest version the app is crashing! I need to get my Time log out of this app before tomorrow morning and now im stuck! This is the second time that i get this kind of problem with their updates… Last time was a year and a half, had to change my regional setting on the phone but now i cant get it to work! Thanks for testing your app!! you guys rock!! EDIT: deleting the app, and then downloading and installing it back solve the crashing issue. But all my data is gone… backup, print, or email your data before doing any updates with this app.

Not happy

Im not very impressed with this app lately. Ive been having troubles for months now, and I have contacted the developer for advice, and nobody ever gets back to me. I just purchased the 2nd app? And Im still having issues. Ive paid for both apps now, and not one is working. Wheres the update??

Very good

If I could email my time sheet it would be 5 stars

Needs more functions.

I am looking to keep track of my weekly hours and OT worked. Would like it if it had a function to automaticlly take out lunch hour(or half hour). I do like how you can set it to end in advance. Also of you could set up weeks and pay period totals, would be five stars.

Crashes

Does not work on 2.1. CostmoSoft blames Apple and expected the 2.1 upgrade to fix. Buyer beware.

Great start, but.....

Could you pleeeaaaase add two things?? Could you add manual time entry as an option? Just a field instead of dials where you enter number of hours a task took. Timers are nice, but one doesnt always remember to start them. sometimes its just easier to enter a job, then the amount of hours worked on x,y,z tasks. Also, a feature I would love to see is Flat Fee priced items. Many times a job will also have flat fee priced services like scans, proofs, clipping paths, etc (Im a designer) and I would love to be able to track those expenses in conjunction with the hours spent doing other tasks. Please can you add those two features....otherwise like I said, I am finding this a good start to a good app....keep up the great work. PS...can you space your text slightly away from the sides of the iphone? (in current entries) the text butts right up to the edge of the iphone...sometimes hard to make out.

Love it

If you have to track time for work you have to have this. They have been great to work with. I purchased this app and made a few requests for funtionality and within weeks it was there, This is a simple intuitive tool to track time. Thank you and keep the cool stuff comming.

Does what it is supposed to do.

I was looking for an app that would help me log my time. I wanted an application that both acts as a timer but also allows me to manually change the start and stop times. I also didnt need anything really fancy such as features to log or sync into a web application. That is the nice part about this application. It’s simplicity. I jump into a meeting, start a timer, when I am done, I hit the stop timer button and add the task and client details. If I am really busy (which I typically am) I just start the timers when the task start and then when I finish and have time, stop them with the correct end time (which I adjust using the interface) and enter the client and task details. I am not sure why the reviews requesting email functionality are listed as the most helpful. This application emails a csv file to my web based email. There are tools to do backup through idisk, webdav but I haven’t looked into that yet. Overall a very good app for what it is designed to do.

Not bad, not great.

The application does what its supposed to do but Im left somewhat unimpressed. The user interface is not intuitive. After being away from the application for a couple weeks and coming back to log time it took me a little while to figure it out again. Jobs and clients are added in the configuration section. I typically think of configuration as a preference thing. Once I figured out what configuration actually was then it took me a little while to figure out how to add jobs again. Obviously I figured it out and it works but I dont think I should have to think so hard. Again, not a bad application, just not particularly impressive either.
